Bevin O’Connor is a poet from Southern California, currently living in Iowa City, Iowa. She received her MFA in Poetry from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, where she taught poetry, fiction, and personal narrative to University of Iowa undergraduates. Bevin now teaches Rhetoric as a faculty member in the University of Iowa’s Rhetoric Department. Her most recent creative projects lyrically explore how grief, folklore, and cultural traditions shape understandings of self. Her work can be found online and in print in publications such as Denver Quarterly, Silver Needle Press, Bird’s Thumb Magazine, and elsewhere.
